SPECIAL EDUCATION CAREERS

Special Education careers prepare students to work with differently-abled individuals. This degree provides an excellent foundation for graduate work as a speech & language pathologist, occupational therapist, counselor, or other behavioral specialist.

The Special Education degree program truly widened my view on the education system and the best ways to serve students that are differently-abled. My professors were willing to go above and beyond to make sure that I was prepared to continue and obtain my master’s degree. I am able to have a different viewpoint and see my clients from multiple perspectives due to my Special Education degree.

HANDS-ON LEARNING

Students in the non-licensure Special Education program take many of the same courses as students in the licensure programs and have the opportunity to complete practicum experiences in schools and gain firsthand experience working
with differently-abled individuals.
